Clinical Psychology.

I provide individual therapy to adolescents and adults.

I am trained and experienced in a range of therapeutic modalities including Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also draw upon a sound understanding of attachment theory and relational therapies.

I value ongoing professional development, and work hard to maintain best practice through regular training, keeping up with relevant and recent research, peer consultation, supervision, and client and referrer feedback.

My areas of clinical interest and expertise include anxiety and depression, trauma (both single-incident and complex trauma), personality disorders, self-esteem and identity, and anger management.

In my work with perinatal clients, I have specific interests in the following:

  • Perinatal anxiety (including the experience of anxiety pre-conception, during pregnancy, and post-partum, and the impact of perfectionism on parenthood and parenting)

  • Perinatal mood disorders

  • Birth trauma

  • Attachment and intergenerational trauma (particularly how an individual’s early experiences and dynamics within their family-of-origin may relate to their current experience as a parent)

  • Difficulty adjusting to parenthood (including shifts in role, identity, and relationships)

  • Body image concerns

  • Postnatal depletion and/or burnout

Forensic Psychology.

As an experienced Forensic Psychologist, I regularly conduct thoughtful, respectful, and best-practice forensic assessments that yield meaningful, client-centred recommendations.

My forensic expertise lies in the assessment and treatment of young people and adults who engage in high-risk behaviours, including general violence, sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and general offending (e.g., theft, drug, and motor vehicle offending).

I have published several research papers in the field of problematic or harmful behaviours among adolescents.

I am currently a Consultant Psychologist with the Children’s Court Clinic of Victoria, providing specialist assessment of high-risk families and youth.

Please contact me to enquire about forensic services.

Supervision and Consultation.

I am a Board-approved supervisor, and registrar program principal supervisor. I am available to supervise clinical and forensic psychology registrars, and earlycareer psychologists.

I especially enjoy providing supervision to passionate, committed psychologists struggling with professional self-doubt (“imposter syndrome”) or wanting to refine and improve their clinical skills (e.g., client engagement, formulation, and professional writing).

I am also available for consultation with other professionals (e.g., schools, care teams, legal counsel) regarding management of forensic risk, and understanding harmful or problematic behaviour.
